There's a program in the computer that jacks-up the idle a bit whenever the a/ c is on, to compensate for the power drain of the a/ c compressor. Problem is, it's all computerized anymore. Maybe have the engine codes read & see if that gives you a place to start looking.

Nothing real serious, sounds like your engine just needs a little TLC. Go get a can of spray carburetor cleaner and follow the procedures in the links below to clean up the most likely sources of the problem on your car. These links, while not all inclusive, will at the very least help to eliminate the components indicated and can save time if a further diagnosis is required.

When you turn the AC on it puts more load on your engine. Sometimes, this will cause your engine to slow down a bit or cause it to labor thus making a vibration. Othere possibilities are - you may need a tune up, your AC unit bearings or pump is shot
