That is likely an electronic solenoid valve in the transmission. Most new Automatics are controlled by electronics, not like the older hydraulic controls. The one issue with this control scheme is that the solenoids "buzz ". The "buzz " is caused by a control solenoid opening and closing rapidly in order to prevent very abrupt gear engagement. If the PCM was to close the solenoid valves in the transmission with one application, the shift would be VERY abrupt and might damage the drive train. The rapid on / off cycle of the solenoid (that is the "Buzz " you hear) allows the oil pressure in the transmission to rise more slowly and thus allows smooth transition from drive to reverse. Sounds normal to me, my Dodge Caravan does the same thing and I was concerned until I did some research and learned how the electronic controlled transmission works. I would drive another Mazda 2 and see if the condition exists in that vehicle. Have you asked your Mazda Dealer if this is normal? 10K kilometers would be in warranty, I would guess?
