Question: Installing aftermarket hu in ford focus 1.8 ghia 2001 (w)?

I have decided to upgrade my factory tape deck in my ford focus ghia to a cd player. I have a kenwood w3041 from my old car but the connections from the focus will not plug in directly. I have seen multistalk adaptors but they all say that they are not compatible with the ghia/ st versions of the car. Is there a multistalk that is compatible between the stereo and car? Also, could I use the stalk control to switch tracks? I'm sure a trip to halfords etc would give me the answers I need but I won't have time to get there for a few weeks. Tha ks
