Question: Is there someone with automotive body repair experience that will look at this picture?
(Posted by: Matt D on 2010-07-25 12:32:39)
My friend backed up into my car and did some damage. The biggest damage is the hole punched into the bumper from the trailer hitch, and there are also some scratches. The grill is obviously broken, but this can be easily replaced. My question is, will an experienced body shop be able to repair the rest of the damage without buying an entire bumper. It seems like if you were good with bondo or fiberglass, that hole could be made new again. tinypic(dot)/ r/ 1zfslcj/ 3 I cant post links for some reason... that is the link above, but you have to add ".com " after "tinypic " tinypic(dotcom)/ r/ 1zfslcj/ 3 |

A good shop could repair it, but they are going to want to sell you a new one. You would be better off either getting a used bumper for them to install, or doing most of the work yourself and letting a shop finish it for you. The hole would need to be patched from behind with epoxy and a bit of plastic, then filled from the outside with filler. |
