Question: Auto accident, other party was at fault (michigan)?

This seems to vary from state to state so an answer in one state doesn't work in another and it's all a little confusing. I'm in Michigan. Got in an auto accident yesterday. Other driver was definitely at fault (ran a red light at an intersection). An eye witness and a police report can back me up on that. Already filed a claim with my insurance company, but have to pay a hefty deductible. Can I get the other party / insurance company to pay up or am I stuck with that deductible?
