Question: What is the minimum liability requirements for auto insurance in germany?

I am now stationed in Germany and my insurance company doubled my premium. I checked my coverage and I'm being covered for 7.5 Million Euros per accident which they promise is the minimum liability they can offer. I checked a different insurance company and their rate said 100 Million Euro minimum liability. I'm looking for something quite a bit lower. What is the real minimum liability here Germany and where can I get it?

I am not sure if it has changed but it used to be based on several factors; drivng record, type of car, years experience, etc. I would guess that the minimum is 7.5 million Euros though and not 100 million. There are many insurance offices all over Germany where you can buy coverage. I used to get mine through the AAA in Heidelberg.
